Who We Are and What We Actually Do
A small professional team, operating with a slate-professional discipline, entirely focused on Kakamega.
Coastmeadowx was established in 2018 by a founding team that had spent several years working in service delivery roles across western Kenya. The consistent observation — repeated across different sectors and different clients — was that smaller communities like Kakamega were underserved not because demand was absent, but because supply was either too large-scale to care or too informal to be reliable. Coastmeadowx was built to occupy that middle ground: a business with the discipline and process rigour of a professional firm, sized and priced for the actual market it operates in. We are not a franchise, we are not an agency, and we are not a cooperative — we are a lean, accountable business whose revenue depends entirely on whether clients in Kakamega find us worth returning to. That dependency keeps our standards honest. As of 2024, we have completed engagements for over 340 individual clients and organisations across Kakamega County, covering professional services, appointment-based consultations, and product supply.

Every engagement at Coastmeadowx starts with a documented brief — a plain-language record of what the client needs, what we will deliver, by when, and for how much. We review that brief with the client before any work or service begins, and we keep it on file for the duration of the engagement. This is not a legal formality; it is a practical tool that prevents misaligned expectations on both sides. Our team of seven includes two senior service coordinators, a dedicated bookings manager, and a product sourcing lead — each with a specific remit that prevents the blurred accountability common in small businesses. We serve individuals, households, micro-enterprises, and community organisations within Kakamega County. We do not operate in Nairobi or offer remote-only engagements; our value is local, physical, and direct. We are not equipped to handle legal, medical, financial auditing, or large-scale construction work — and when a client presents a need that falls into those categories, we say so clearly and point them in a more useful direction. Results in our professional services depend partly on factors outside our control — third-party supplier timelines, regulatory approval periods, and client availability for reviews — and we communicate these dependencies honestly rather than masking them with optimistic estimates.
